The Afghani is gaining in value, currently just under 50 AFA to a dollar  In Khair Khana bazaar, the majority of women wore the blue burqa, either out of tradition, security reasons or poverty Where as in Shar-i-naw, women wore skirts, pants and headscarves.
Ministry of Communication, the tallest remaining building in Kabul due to its provisions against artillery damage, is working on new ways to educate the public. Including installing public internet kiosks where both men and women can be learn basic internet skills. The Kabul stadium is once again being used for football matches.  It provides organized sports activities for youth and the ticket price of 2 Afghanis is within the reach of most of the city residents.
The Kabul Zoo is also being reconstructed after years of war And is a place for family recreation and relaxation.  At the same time, Mental health remains a major concern for those experiencing years of war and trauma.

But it has carried itself through many trials, with a strong will to survive.
